Key Activity 205: Strategic partnerships to support innovation and exchange good practice in the field of youth

Website: http://2025skills.uppscience.eu/

Lead Partner: Vismednet, Malta

Partners: Spain, Poland, Malta, Ireland, Turkey, Bulgaria

Duration: 18 months (March 2019-August 2020)

The main goal of the project is to encourage young people to do research by engaging at least 40 youth leaders to produce 40 mini-scientific articles on the top 10 skills that employers will look for when hiring new employees in 2025. Economic Forum “The Future of Jobs” (January 2016) these skills are as follows:

  1. Complex problem solving
  2. Critical Thinking
  3. Creativity
  4. People management
  5. Coordination with others
  6. Emotional intelligence
  7. Decisions and decision making
  8. Service orientation
  9. Negotiations
  10. Cognitive flexibility

These skills will become increasingly important for the successful realization of the labor market in the future. For example, creativity will become an increasingly valuable skill given human competition with robots in the labor market and the fact that it is one of the skills that machines do not have. And while the ability to negotiate and flexibility are highly valued skills today, in 2025 they will be less and less important.

The project also aims to contribute to organizational changes in the youth sector – the introduction of research as a culture in youth work and new forms of interaction between organizations working with young people and stakeholders. The project envisages the formation of a group of “Ambassadors of Change” (one from each partner organization). The role of the Ambassadors of Change in the project is to set an example and support other interested young people who want to be part of the change.
