Duration: 2008 – until now

The Enterprise Europe Network was launched in early 2008 as an initiative of the European Commission to help small and medium-sized enterprises develop their full potential and innovation capacity.

Enterprise Europe Network is the largest information and consulting network in support of business, not only in Europe but also in the world. It encourages innovation in order to make it a market success for companies. The network provides support and services to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), especially in the early stages of their development, in order to become more innovative and strengthen their technological capacity. SMEs are encouraged to participate in research programs and apply for funding. Cooperation with innovation clusters is being improved and a number of regional initiatives are being implemented. Providing access to innovative technologies helps SMEs to compete against global competition.

The Enterprise Europe Network combines the resources and capacity of the existing European Information Centers until the end of 2007 (370 in number, including the Euro Info Center in Yambol) and the European Innovation Centers (71 centers).

The network brings together over 600 organizations, including chambers of commerce, regional development agencies, university technology centers and more. The network employs more than 6,000 highly qualified experts. The centers of the network operate in over 60 countries / including 28 EU member states, candidate countries – Serbia, Macedonia, Albania, Turkey, etc., members of the European Economic Area and other countries such as Armenia, Israel and Switzerland /.
